Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) was established in 2012 by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Its 25-acre campus is located in the Tiruchirappalli-Dindipul NH-45 at Navalurkuttappattu Village which is around 10 kilometres away from the Sessions and District Court and other subordinate courts. The university was founded by the former Honourable Chief Minister Late Dr J Jayalalithaa. The courses offered by TNNLU include B.A.LL.B (Hons.), B.Com.LL.B (Hons.), LL.M and Ph.D courses, which are recognised and approved by UGC. It has also received the recognition from the Bar Council of India. TNNLU is a residential university with about 600 students, 30 dedicated professors and 50 administrative and supporting staff. The university is the first national-level university in Tamil Nadu to be established in the field of law, advocacy and skills and legal processes. Renowned judges, senior advocates, academicians, practitioners from all across the world visit TNNLU for special lectures and short term courses on a range of emerging areas in all the relevant areas.
